It's natural to want to live in your own home for as long as possible. The thought of leaving the place you've come to know and love and that holds so many memories is daunting. However, as we age, the strive for continued independence can actually lead to isolation, loneliness, struggle and confusion.
If your loved one has reached the stage where daily living is a real struggle and it's no longer practical or manageable to live at home, we'd like to offer you the perfect solution.
Becoming a resident at Prospect House is a positive step; indeed, many of our residents and families are quick to comment about how they wish they'd made the move sooner. Your loved one is likely to experience a renewed passion for life as they shift from the challenges of independent living to enjoying a welcoming community, a full daily schedule of activities and a warm environment.

There are many good reasons to choose Prospect House as the ideal home for your aging loved one. They will have opportunities to re-discover their passions and receive the care they need in a safe, warm environment.
Here are just a few.
1. Ratings & reviews
www.CareHome.co.uk is the UK's largest independent care home website and lists details of all care homes in the country, including reviews from residents and their families. Reviews are strictly controlled and authenticated to ensure they are genuine.
Each home is rated on the same criteria to ensure consistency and given an overall score based on all the reviews submitted. The higher the score, the better the home has been rated and the more reviews that have been submitted, the more accurate the overall score.
Prospect House has a 96% satisfaction rating (9.6 out of 10 overall score) based on 41 reviews and is the amongst the highest rated care homes in the local area.
2. Prospect House is a close community that welcomes new residents
Prospect House has only 54 rooms, so the staff know all the residents by name, and the residents know each other. If your loved one has lived alone for a number of years with limited social interaction, this sense of community can be important for helping them find renewed meaning and fulfilment.
Our varied activities schedule means that your loved one has many opportunities to engage with others and rediscover their purpose for living.
3. Truly caring & supportive staff
We understand that your loved one needs to have a trusting relationship with their carers before they will feel comfortable and at home. In some homes the workload and nature of the job mean there is often a high staff turnover which can affect that relationship.
Prospect house is very different and we work hard to make sure all our staff feel valued and support and, as such, many of our staff have worked at Prospect House for over 20 years. Our highly skilled team is also expertly trained in caring for the needs of our aged residents providing them with the care and respect that they deserve.

Prospect House has a very homely, welcoming feeling. Staff ratios are excellent and they communicate well when we visit.
Mother had become very underweight following a fall and a stay in the hospital, but since arriving at Prospect House she has started eating again and taking an interest in her surroundings. Staff are very attentive and the home is of a very high standard with regards to cleanliness.
Standard rooms are less expensive than comparable rooms in care homes in the area, but the quality is not compromised. Can't recommend Prospect House highly enough.
4. Top facilities & activities
You can expect to enjoy a full range of activities; the schedule of which is available in your weekly newsletter. We will sit with you and your loved one to develop an individualised care plan so that you can decide what you want to do and what will bring you joy.
Prospect House is centrally located within the village of Malpas which means that you remain in regular contact with what is happening outside the home.
You have access to top-class facilities and, through ongoing feedback and communication with Prospect House, you can be confident that any requests or concerns you may raise about the facilities will be addressed.
You have a personalised schedule of available activities and events to build meaning and fulfilment into your day. For examples of the activities at Prospect House please check out our Facebook page or the blog posts below.
5. An open-door policy
We welcome visitors and your feedback. Other care facilities may require visitors to make appointments before they can visit, or they may have strict visitation hours. At Prospect House you are welcome to call in anytime.
Your loved one's happiness is our top priority so we want to know how we can improve. We are also available to let you know how you can obtain independent advice if funding becomes an issue and can help identify what options are available to you.
My father has been resident for 6 months. He is very happy and we are delighted with all aspects of the care, medical, entertainment, accommodation and nothing is too much trouble for the professional and other staff.
It is a great relief to my brother and myself that he is safe and well cared for, especially as we experienced poor care elsewhere before we found Prospect House.
