Prospect House Is A Wonderful Place To Live In Your Later Years

Your life at Prospect House Care Home in the beautiful village of Malpas

The move into a care home can be overwhelming, and there may be many questions that you and your loved one have about what they can expect at Prospect House. We’ve answered a few of the most common questions to help give you an idea of what they can look forward to.

What will my room be like?

The home has 54 individually styled rooms with views over the Cheshire plains, and the option of companion rooms for couples. Lift access makes it possible to choose a room on the first floor as they are conveniently accessible. The variety of different choices means there’s bound to be a room that’ll fit your requirements and budget perfectly.

The Georgian house has a number of original features such as the panelled staircase, galleried landing, high ceilings and candelabra lighting. This means that the rooms are bright and airy, as well as spacious so that if you have mobility concerns, you can be assured that it will be easy for you to move around.

In addition to modern, comfortable furniture and furnishings; each of the rooms is fitted with its own toilet or bathroom. The lighting is set up to ensure that you can navigate around the room and read with ease; and the décor can be personalised to assist with any specific needs such as dementia.

Comfort, Convenience & Homeliness

I cannot recommend this home highly enough

Mike M Son of Resident

I cannot recommend this home highly enough. The staff and residents become family. Regular activities, good food, constantly clean.

Lovely rooms (in a new wing). Regular reviews with family. It's not cheap, but everything works and functions so well. There are also some wonderful volunteers that help out. Highly recommended.

Is there a garden?

Chatting In The Garden With Friends

Yes, there are three separate garden areas at Prospect House. The property offers naturally shaded grass lawn gardens at the front entrance, a secure grassed garden and patio at the rear of the building and a large outdoor courtyard garden with additional seating areas for relaxation.

In summer there are a number of events that are hosted in the gardens, giving you the opportunity to enjoy activities outdoors or, if you prefer, there is comfortable seating to meet up with friends for a chat, read a book or simply relax and enjoy the fresh air.

Who will be looking after me?

Our Wonderful Team At Prospect House

The level of care at Prospect House is unmatched as the nursing and care staff work closely with you to understand your needs and offer specialist care. Unlike many other care homes, the staff turnover at Prospect House is very low so you will form close relationships with the nurses.

This means that you can expect our team, headed up by the on-site Nurse Manager, to provide the best possible care for you, meeting all your physical and mental healthcare needs. Our team of nurses are on call around the clock, seven days a week offering assistance for the full spectrum of illnesses and disabilities.

If your loved one is experiencing memory loss due to Alzheimer’s disease or another form of dementia, Prospect House offers expert in-house dementia care. With extensive experience in caring for individuals living with dementia, we will work with them on a one-on-one basis following a person-centred approach. Our nurses will take time to understand your loved one's history and preferences, and will work with them to develop daily routines that are meaningful.

We are so grateful that he was able to be cared for here

Hazel B Daughter of Resident

My father was cared for at Prospect House for the last eight months of his life until he died peacefully in his sleep.

When he moved to Prospect House he had advanced dementia and so was unable to understand his own needs or situation. It was very difficult to make a decision on his behalf but we are so grateful that he was able to be cared for here as the staff were extremely kind, competent and knowledgeable and ensured that he was well looked after and that he received the help and support that he needed.

Other visitors often commented on the good care they observed. We were always confident that our father was safe, that the home was well staffed and that the residents were regularly monitored both day and night. My father seemed to adjust well to living there and to appreciate the care he was receiving.

Will I enjoy the food?

If excellent food is important to your loved one, they are going to be very happy at Prospect House.

The quality of our food is one of the hallmarks of the home. All meals are prepared by chef Paul who has Michelin star restuarant experience. His innovative approach to food preparation ensures that all food is prepared and cooked on-site using fresh locally-sourced seasonal produce that is nutritious and flavourful.

The chef welcomes community input and you will be invited to become actively involved in helping set the menu. Paul is also available at meal times and serves the food himself giving him the opportunity to interact with you and gain a better understanding of what you enjoy.

The menu is British-traditional with international inspiration including Indian and Italian dishes. There are always two menu options available and, if neither is suitable, the chef will happily prepare an alternative. If your loved one has any special dietary requirements, they will happily be accommodated.

We have the highest possible 5-star Food Hygiene Rating Score awarded at inspection by environmental health officers from Cheshire West and Chester Council.

Scrumptious!

Excellent care home facilities

Michael J Son of Resident

Excellent care home facilities, nothing too much trouble, staff could not do enough for my father.

The food, he said, was very good.

This is the third home that he has lived in and is by far the best

Kate S Daughter of Resident

My father has been in Prospect House for five months now and has settled into a routine thanks to the patience and kindness of all the staff who support him.

This is the third home that he has lived in and is by far the best. Residents needing EMI nursing care are treated with great dignity and respect. Carers are always positive and professional and concerns are quickly addressed when raised.

I visit my father almost daily and I am constantly impressed by the quality of the food, the speed with which his laundry is washed and the phenomenal care that he is shown/receives. It is all very reassuring for my family.
