Our residents would like to thank local high school pupils for thinking of
them with messages of lockdown positivity.

Children of key workers who are attending Bishop Heber High School in Malpas chose to make residents at Prospect House Care Home bookmarks in a bid to share positive messages residents would see everyday.

Encouraging active minds during lockdown with quotes such as ‘books, books, books,’ and ‘books are a uniquely portable magic’ the donation of 10 bookmarks has delighted residents, who prior to the pandemic had launched a literacy initiative with Alport Primary School called offering one-to-one reading development for pupils.

Sarah Stroud Registered Manager at Prospect House Nursing and Care Home says:
“We’re delighted people are thinking of us and thank the pupils for reaching out and taking the time to make these beautiful bookmarks which we are all looking forward to using when we can return to our ‘reading with granny’ initiative.”
