Our residents have recently been able to enjoy a round the world fine dining tour, all without leaving the comfort of home!

From Scandinavia to America, Spanish and French classic, the gourmet concept was cooked up by home chef, Paul Wright and Activities Lead, Kristy Ankers, who together created the tasty concept matched with virtual TV tours and quizzes associated with the countries visited.

“We became aware than many of our residents were missing the fine dining restaurant experience. Eager to make the experience extra special, we created the whole experience in an old school French restaurant setting. What better way to add excitement to the day than the promise of a fine dining menu.”

Paul Wright, Chef at Prospect House

A highlight of the Gourmet Evenings was the Michelin Star menu from days gone by at the Arkle Bar & Lounge at the Chester Grosvenor.

The French inspired four course meal featured lip smacking smoked salmon blini, poached quail egg with hollandaise sauce, an intermediate of confit leg of duck, garlic bread and micro herbs, followed by a main of slow roast belly pork, rosy apple puree, fondant potato, honey glazed carrots, cider jus roti. For those who still had room, the dessert, a deep fried jam sandwich with ice cream and vanilla sugar completed the feast.
