Should he need to have permanent care then we couldn't have a better place

Doreen N Wife of Resident

My husband has been having 6 weeks rehab at Prospect House and I really cannot fault it. This room has recently been redecorated, it is comfortable and the staff have been friendly and helpful.

If he should need to have permanent care then we couldn't have a better place and I speak from experience having had both our mothers in care homes in the Wrexham area.

Nothing is too much trouble

Judith B Daughter of Resident

I am very impressed with the care provided. Staff are well qualified and always pleasant and willing, nothing is too much trouble.

The accommodation - bedroom, lounge and dining room are all of good quality and cheerful to be in. Meals are varied, tasty and suitable. My mother is very contented, which is a great comfort to me.

The care is excellent, the carers are kind and smiley

Enid W Resident

I am very contented here. The care is excellent, the carers are kind and smiley.

The food is good. I have a lovely bedroom. My family and friends can visit me at any time. I am well blessed.

I cannot recommend this home highly enough

Mike M Son of Resident

I cannot recommend this home highly enough. The staff and residents become family. Regular activities, good food, constantly clean.

Lovely rooms (in a new wing). Regular reviews with family. It's not cheap, but everything works and functions so well. There are also some wonderful volunteers that help out. Highly recommended.

The matron and senior staff were always at hand if needed to discuss anything

Frank Wife of Resident

We as a family looked at many nursing homes locally. As we entered Prospect House we all felt the warmth and care coming from all whom we met. It is not a big home but to us this was an advantage.

We left my husband to experience the home for 2 weeks to see how he felt. Apart from the usual feelings every one must experience when leaving a loved one in such circumstances we knew he would be looked after. After 2 weeks had passed he was very settled and happy, he had made friends with a lot of people (especially the staff!)

Apart from my husband's friendships I made lots of friends with both residents and staff. The matron and senior staff were always at hand if needed to discuss anything. My husband ended up staying there for 13months until unfortunately he passed away. I will certainly keep in touch with them all.

Nice lounge facilities and varied menu with facility to eat at different times

Michael P Son-in-law of Resident

Very warm welcome by caring staff. Pleasant warm room. Nice lounge facilities and varied menu with facility to eat at different times. Joined in some social activities.

All the staff and carers gave her 100% of what she needed

Heather Daughter of Resident

My mother had been a resident at Prospect House for over 4 years and was suffering from mobility problems and dementia. She died on the 11th of December 2015, and my sister and I could not have wished for better care than the care she received for her end of life.

All the staff and carers gave her 100% of what she needed and were a tremendous support to her, and us, at a very difficult time.

I cannot speak highly enough, and really would recommend Prospect House as a very efficient, genuine and caring home.

The home was refurbished and extended to a high standard

Gail Daughter of Resident

Mum was a resident for five years, over that time the home was refurbished and extended to a high standard although some of mum's rooms were previously basic. The care and attention by staff in all roles from management, nurses, carers to maintenance, catering and cleaning staff were always of a high standard.

They all became known to us and helped mum feel at home, with people who really did care that she was cared for well and was comfortable. She was treated with kindness and dignity in a very professional way and particularly in the last months of her life the attention to her needs was incredible, day and night.

The care has been outstanding

Gemma Daughter of Resident

This review relates to both Alzheimer's wing and the nursing home. My mother is in the "garden room" with advanced Alzheimer's (since Sept 2014) The care has been outstanding, mum settled remarkably quickly and in all the visits that I or my siblings have made (unannounced), we have never had cause for concern.

We feel mum is loved and cared for and her needs met. The staff are always open to questions or suggestions. My father with great physical needs but completely sound mentally was well cared for on two respite short visits.

The care at Prospect House is exceptional

Paula W Daughter of Resident

The care at Prospect House is exceptional. First impressions are of a clean, attractive interior, with no smell of stale food, as is often the case in a residential/nursing home.

The staff both qualified and carers are helpful, kind and caring. The food is excellent, my mother aged 91 has gained weight and is once more cheerful.

There is a hairdresser and a chiropodist calling regularly as well as a programme of activities. My mother has even had her nails done. I would have no hesitation in recommending Prospect House to anyone looking for care of their family member.

The staff are so kind and helpful

Joan A Wife of Resident

My husband has dementia and goes to Prospect House for day care one or two days a week to give me some me time. I can change the day if I wish. The staff are so kind and helpful.

She said she felt like a VIP

Angela Daughter of Resident

Mum spent 3 1/2 months in respite at Prospect House earlier this year. She soon settled in and enjoyed the morning activities.

She had nothing but praise for the staff and the matron, enjoyed the food- she said she felt like a VIP. It was a sad day indeed for mum and myself when she had to leave.

I and my family couldn't have wished for a better standard of care

John F Husband of Resident

My wife went to Prospect House in Jan 2013 and died in February 2016. For three years she had extremely good care. A member of staff said to me once "If we didn't like the job we wouldn't do it" and that attitude seemed to apply to all the staff.

Whilst the residents were patients they were also friends and treated us as such. She always had a smile for the staff and received one in return. I and my family couldn't have wished for a better standard of care.

We are so grateful that he was able to be cared for here

Hazel B Daughter of Resident

My father was cared for at Prospect House for the last eight months of his life until he died peacefully in his sleep.

When he moved to Prospect House he had advanced dementia and so was unable to understand his own needs or situation. It was very difficult to make a decision on his behalf but we are so grateful that he was able to be cared for here as the staff were extremely kind, competent and knowledgeable and ensured that he was well looked after and that he received the help and support that he needed.

Other visitors often commented on the good care they observed. We were always confident that our father was safe, that the home was well staffed and that the residents were regularly monitored both day and night. My father seemed to adjust well to living there and to appreciate the care he was receiving.

Her care was excellent in every way

Nicola M Stepdaughter of Resident

My stepmother was keen to go to Prospect House and she was extremely fortunate to get a room so promptly.

Her care was excellent in every way and she found the staff friendly and approachable. Her last days were spent at Prospect House and she felt at peace and safe.

Staff ratios are excellent

Elaine W Daughter of Resident

Prospect House has a very homely, welcoming feeling. Staff ratios are excellent and they communicate well when we visit.

Mother had become very underweight following a fall and a stay in the hospital, but since arriving at Prospect House she has started eating again and taking an interest in her surroundings. Staff are very attentive and the home is of a very high standard with regards to cleanliness.

Standard rooms are less expensive than comparable rooms in care homes in the area, but the quality is not compromised. Can't recommend Prospect House highly enough.

Care is of a very good standard and staff seem willing and cheerful

Meryl Z Goddaughter of Resident

My Godmother, came to Prospect House initially for 6 to 8 weeks of respite as she has an ulcerated foot and was unable to walk even with her frame. The care generally has been excellent and she has been happy to stay longer as is necessary.

A few minor issues have arisen from time to time regarding not getting my Godmother up until late, taking too long to answer her call bell and forgetting her lunch, but overall the care is of a very good standard and staff seem willing and cheerful.

The Matron is always very helpful and accommodating, especially with the help provided for my Godmother's 90th birthday celebration held at the home recently.

Delighted with the care

Julian A Son of Resident

I have been delighted with the care that my father has received.

I love living at Prospect House

Joy S Resident

I love living at Prospect House. I have a lovely cosy room and comfortable bed. I am well fed and I am very fond of all the girls that look after me.

The care and consideration given to my mother was second to none

Margaret F Daughter of Resident

The care and consideration given to my mother for the last few months of her life was second to none. She had a severe vascular condition which needed a lot of attention, especially in the last month, but her needs were always met with a smile and such kindness.

She was kept immaculately clean, as was her room, which was very homely and welcoming. Prospect House was always a happy place to visit at any time of day, with a cheerful, positive staff and warm atmosphere where nothing was too much trouble.

I cannot praise them highly enough and always feel, as I leave that she was in good hands. Unfortunately, my mother was unable to take part in any of the activities, but there seemed to be quite a few things happening on a regular basis.

The cheerfulness of the staff at all times was astonishing their patience and kindness too

J W Resident

I was in Prospect House to convalesce. While I was weak I was very impressed with the standard of care. As I grew stronger and more mobile I noticed that understandably there was limited opportunity to improve. I do not criticise merely observe. There were issues with my bathroom some eyebrow-raising issues with medication, the first due to bad design (toilet glass shelf) and the second with staff shortage.

The cheerfulness of the staff at all times was astonishing their patience and kindness too. I was and remain deeply grateful to them all.

The home itself is beautiful, always clean and odour free

Nicola S Daughter of Resident

Cannot recommend this care home enough. All staff are extremely caring and professional.

The home itself is beautiful, always clean and odour free. Dementia care is great. Nothing ever is any trouble for any of staff. Have had experience of a number of care homes and found this one outstanding.

Excellent care home facilities

Michael J Son of Resident

Excellent care home facilities, nothing too much trouble, staff could not do enough for my father.

The food, he said, was very good.

It was our first choice when mum in law needed nursing home care

Jean S Daughter-in-law of Resident

Our association with Prospect House goes back a long way, both my father in law and mother in law had been cared for there.

It was our first choice when mum in law needed nursing home care and fortunately, a room was available. We were comforted that she was able to spend the final 6 weeks of her life in Malpas her home for many years, under the care of the surgery and the staff of Prospect House.

Unfortunately, she was not well enough to take part in many activities available but did seem to get some enjoyment out of the Christmas activities laid on.

We are delighted with all aspects of the care, medical, entertainment & accommodation

Susan S Daughter of Resident

My father has been resident for 6 months. He is very happy and we are delighted with all aspects of the care, medical, entertainment, accommodation and nothing is too much trouble for the professional and other staff.

It is a great relief to my brother and myself that he is safe and well cared for, especially as we experienced poor care elsewhere before we found Prospect House.

I couldn't fault it

Simon G Son of Resident

My mother stayed in the care home for one week's respite. She was welcomed and well looked after. Her room was good and clean.

She told me the staff were kind and the food was good. "I couldn't fault it", she said. I was welcomed when I visited.

My husband chose this care nursing home for himself

Drusilla Ann M Wife of Resident

My husband chose this care nursing home for himself. He had visited many, many times over the years as a professional.

He had as part of his job visited many of the homes in the district and chose this one without hesitation.

What higher recommendation can you get than that?

This is the third home that he has lived in and is by far the best

Kate S Daughter of Resident

My father has been in Prospect House for five months now and has settled into a routine thanks to the patience and kindness of all the staff who support him.

This is the third home that he has lived in and is by far the best. Residents needing EMI nursing care are treated with great dignity and respect. Carers are always positive and professional and concerns are quickly addressed when raised.

I visit my father almost daily and I am constantly impressed by the quality of the food, the speed with which his laundry is washed and the phenomenal care that he is shown/receives. It is all very reassuring for my family.

This is the kind of care everyone should have in their last days

J H Daughter of Resident

My late mother went to Prospect House for end of life nursing care when she could no longer manager in her own home.

Although we knew it would be a very short stay, it was a huge relief at a very difficult time to know she was in excellent hands.

We were able to visit several times a day. Their care for her and us as a family was exemplary. This is the kind of care everyone should have in their last days.

A very special place

Sue L Daughter of Resident

My mother lived at Prospect House for the last year of her life. She was always treated with love and respect.

The staff were wonderful and they do everything to make life interesting and varied for those who live there. A very special place.
